You know you need a box…

Mamma Mah is a real person. She’s a top baker and chef, as well as an efficient home director. We usually buy pineapple tarts from her around Chinese New Year (that would be the subject of another post), but she is now selling a variety of baked goods.

We tried the Fudge Brownies- they come with or without walnuts, but always with baking-fairy dust!It was really moist and reheated well for that brownie-with-vanilla-ice-cream craving later in the week (also proof that we did not finish the whole box of brownies in a day, even though it did cross everyone’s mind).

A box of brownies is $38 for a large 8-inch/20cm square (without walnuts), and would make a wonderful treat for a birthday or a caring pick-me-up for a friend (because chocolate, and edible gold sprinkles). The chocolate used in Mamma Mah’s fudge brownie is not Godiva or even the more common Valrhona chocolate, but an artisanal high-quality Dark Chocolate made in Singapore. It does not have the acidic/ultra-bitter aftertaste that a lot of dark chocolate products have (thus the kids couldn’t get enough of this brownie).

Fantastic texture and very moist

We also tried Mamma Mah’s sourdough bread, but the moment I sliced it, too many little hands grabbed it and I have no photograph to show for it. It had a great crust for soup and the inside was soft with a great chew to it. (The photo below is from their FB page.) I know from the documented experiences of others that making a good sourdough is not that easy.

If these items don’t go with your cup of tea, hang around their FB page, different goodies come up every week or so!

Pick up is near Dover/Ghim Moh/West, but with a minimum order delivery can be arranged!
