Many LEGO exhibits comprise of an intricate build housed in plexiglass, so I was expecting to see a fairly static exhibition that we would get through in 2 hours. However, this Brickman exhibition had really neat display builds with no plexiglass and decent opportunities for kids and adults to get their hands full of building bricks.

Firstly, the builds are impressive, entertaining and fairly educational. There are also a few onsite challenges/games with real prizes (not a bookmark) which kept competitive adults and teens busy and intent.

I explored buildings from around the world with my preschooler, since he had asked me about them before.

The best part of the exhibition for me was watching my kids build a Duplo bridge-then-tower together for almost three hours, without wrestling each other to the ground or speaking in a volume above 2/5. They chatted with other kids and helped each other build things. There were even seats placed strategically at the building area for patient and impatient caregivers. The large amount of bricks available combined with the opportunity to display their builds (and maybe even the relaxing background music!) created a conducive environment for building. It helped that it was a low-crowd weekday.

Good vibes

Kudos also to the staff who were friendly (as friendly as you can be while making sure people don’t damage stuff) and could be seen moving some of the visitor builds around, arranging them nicely by the main display.

The Build Inspiration cues were fun and the visitor builds became part of the display, for a day.
Cute details on the Arc de Triomphe

There are about 5 areas for people to fiddle and build, but we only made it to 2 of them. Sanitizer is readily available at every station and while there is a bathroom inside, no food and drinks are allowed, which is probably a good idea because food+lego+kids creates a messy situation.

The Brickman®️ Wonders Of The World is created by Ryan McNaught, a LEGO Certified Professional and will be open till July 3, 2022 at the Science Centre Annexe. Get your tickets here 🙂 . Discounts are available with a minimum of 2 or 4 tickets.

Ended the day with building on a small base plate – most were cute characters, not Minecraft
